Position: Elementary Speech and Language Pathologist (SY 2026-2027)
Location: Topsham

Job Title

Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) – PreK–5th grade – MSAD 75, Bowdoinham Community School (4 days per week) and Williams Cone School (1 day per week) for the 2026‑2027 school year.

Overview

Serving Maine’s Midcoast communities—Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Harpswell, and Topsham—MSAD 75 is home to over 2,350 students and more than 600 faculty and staff members.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, and total communication needs for elementary-aged students, including standardized assessments, observations, and informal measures.
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) with measurable goals and objectives based on assessment results and student needs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students with a range of communication disorders, including articulation, phonology, language (receptive and expressive), fluency, voice, and social communication.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including evaluation reports, IEPs, progress notes, and data collection.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and other school-based meetings as required.
  • Stay current with best practices and research in the field of speech-language pathology.
  • Adhere to all ethical and professional standards of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and state licensure requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education or Principal.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an ASHA‑accredited program.
  • Current Maine State Licensure in Speech‑Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • State of Maine Department of Education background check (CHRC) authorization.
