Overview

HFHC provides comprehensive services in family medicine, podiatry, behavioral health, and dental care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist providers by prepping charts, taking vital signs, drawing blood, processing lab specimens, conducting telephone work, and supporting providers during patient encounters.
  • Participate as a member of the patient care team to provide care to individual patients.
  • Present a positive and professional image in interactions with staff and the public.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with health center policies and procedures.
  • Participate in daily huddles.
  • Maintain hand hygiene.
  • Administer immunizations.
  • Perform fluoride varnish applications of pediatric patients.
  • Report laboratory results or messages to the patient per medical provider request.
  • Perform appropriate documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Document tobacco use and if screening is positive, provide cessation counseling.
  • Conduct screenings such as depression screening/PHQ9, anxiety screening, pediatric and trauma screening.
  • Review and send messages to providers as appropriate.
  • Complete and fax prior authorizations.
  • Conduct PPD tests and properly document.
  • Responsible for patient rooming, including room cleaning and stocking.
  • Administer EKGs and other testing procedures as designated.
  • Properly dispose of biohazardous materials.
  • Use pulse oximetry.
  • Assist with data collection for the quality improvement team to ensure high quality of care.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Preferred: 1 year experience as medical assistant in an outpatient setting and/or specialty area.
  • Medical Assistant Program certificate preferred but the center will train the right candidate.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Starting at $17, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
