The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) at the University of Maine is home to the only CSD undergraduate and graduate programs in the state. The primary purpose of this full-time, 10.5-month Lecturer position (non-tenure track) is to provide high-quality, evidence-based clinical education and instructional training for graduate students within the speech-language pathology master's program. The successful candidate will serve as a core clinical educator, delivering direct supervision, mentorship, and clinical instruction within the on-campus billing university clinic - the Madelyn

D. Conley Speech, Language, and Hearing Center.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Clinical supervision and instruction:
Provide intensive, direct clinical instruction and supervision to students during diagnostic and therapeutic sessions at the Conley Speech, Language, and Hearing Center.

* Student mentorship:
Evaluate and track student clinical competencies, providing actionable feedback to help graduate students meet required clinical hours and professional standards for graduation and certification.

* Clinic operations and client care:
Manage a diverse clinical caseload to ensure the highest continuity of care for community clients, while dynamically working within the operational and revenue-generating needs of the billing clinic.

* Summer instruction:
Provide clinical coverage and instruction and/or didactic teaching during the summer session.

* Classroom teaching and advising:
Teach undergraduate- or graduate-level lectures or courses within the department and provide academic/ professional advising for students as opportunities and needs arise.

* Service and engagement:
Participate actively in department and university service, contributing to committee work, department initiatives, and professional accreditation maintenance.

Qualifications:

Required:

* Master's or doctoral degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders, Speech-Language Pathology, or equivalent.

* Holds, or is eligible for, the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

* Holds, or is eligible for, a valid Maine State License in Speech-Language Pathology.

Preferred:

* Clinical experience:
Five (5) or more years of post-certification clinical practice experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

* Supervisory experience:
Prior experience providing clinical instruction, supervision, or mentorship to graduate students or clinical fellows.

* Instructional background:

Experience with classroom teaching, delivering didactic instruction, and/or academic advising, preferably within a higher education setting.

* Program & curriculum development:
Experience contributing to CSD program-level initiatives, clinical program management, or curriculum design and development.

* Clinical expertise:
Clinical expertise in any area of speech-language pathology is welcome; however, experience or interest working with pediatric and/or literacy populations is preferred.
