Registration Clerk​/Switchboard

Responsibilities

The functionality of this position is to effectively and efficiently process all patients for all services in the hospital by maintaining front desk reception, switchboard, and registration in a courteous, professional manner. Patient education will be performed by the registration clerk in many areas including but not limited to:
Free Care, Advanced Directives, Patient Consent, Patient Rights, Notice of Privacy Practice, and the Advanced Beneficiary Notice.

• High School Diploma or GED with on the job training
• Experience with various computer systems and typing
• Knowledgeable in medical terminology
• Knowledgeable in various health insurance plans
• Knowledgeable in daily operations of a business office and general office machines
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting, and performing under pressure and with periods of interruption
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
