Correctional Officer (2) - Downeast Correctional Facility, Machiasport. EVERGREEN. Pay Grade: 16 $ 26.56 - $31.89 hourly (This rate includes $1/hr. institutional stipend.) The above rate does not include applicable night, weekend shift differentials, or Premium Overtime. Starting Pay: $26.56/hr base Premium Overtime Rate: $39.84/hr shift Differentials: +$0.50/hr. 2nd +$0.60/hr. 3rd Shift. Weekend Differential: +0.60/hr. straight time. +$0.90/hr. for Premium Overtime.

Minimum Requirements to Apply:

  • At least 18-Years-Old.
  • HS Diploma or Equivalent (HiSET, GED, etc.).
  • Valid driver's license to apply, Maine driver's license upon hire.
  • No serious criminal or extensive motor vehicle records. See Automatic Disqualifiers

Paid Training, Education, and State Certification, 100% funded by MDOC:
No prior experience necessary, training provided to ensure your career success.

  • Six-Week paid 'Basic Corrections Training Program' (BCTP) w/State Certification.
  • Non-residential BCTP held at MCC in Windham. If needed, lodging available & funded by MDOC.
  • How to Become a Correctional Officer.
