Exciting opportunity to join an emerging LGBTQ+ behavioral health organization from the ground up! Affirming Behavioral Health is hiring Clinical Practitioners for an outpatient clinic operating both virtually and in-person near Bangor, Maine.
Affirming Behavioral Health is a start-up behavioral health organization with a mission of providing affirming, inclusive, evidence-based mental health services to Mainers of diverse genders and sexualities. We are thrilled to be expanding our clinical staff, adding team members who will play a key role in launching clinical services to Mainers both in‑person near Bangor and via telehealth statewide. Practitioners will focus on providing mental health treatment and clinical services consistent with ABH’s mission to provide affirming, inclusive, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care.

This position offers variable schedule opportunities, including remote and in‑person options. The role can be part‑time or full‑time, with flexible hours negotiable for the right candidate.

LocationVariable with remote and in‑person opportunities (Hampden, Maine clinic).
NOTE:
All remote/hybrid positions will require some travel to our Bangor‑area based practice as often as once per month. Other remote/hybrid options may be considered.

- Licensure: Active Maine licensure (e.g., LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, Psychologist, or similar) required. Conditional licenses will be considered pending clinical supervisor licensure.
- Education: Master’s degree or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in providing clinical services in a behavioral health or mental health setting and/or within the LGBTQ+ community strongly preferred.

Competencies: - Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities for mental health disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to assess and manage clinical risk, crisis situations, and complex client needs.
- Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., CARF, JCAHO, state regulations).
- Salary:$60, based on experience and qualifications (will be pro‑rated based on hours worked for part‑time employees). Please note that this wide range accounts not only for experience but also for flexibility in job structure and schedule, which may look different from clinician to clinician.
