Certified Scrub Technician
The Certified Scrub Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and sterility of surgical procedures by preparing and handling all necessary instrumentation. They support surgeons and surgical teams during both scheduled and emergency cases, maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to strict protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and arrange surgical instruments and supplies according to surgeon pick sheets.
- Maintain strict sterile techniques throughout procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Assist surgical staff with instrument handling and pass instruments during surgeries.
- Follow departmental procedures and support operational efficiency under pressure.
- Document procedures and maintain confidentiality of patient and procedural information.
- Communicate effectively with team members, hospital staff, and vendors as needed.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program.
- Possess a current ORT (Operating Room Technician) certification.
- Have current OR experience in a surgical setting.
- Hold BCLS certification.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills with diverse healthcare team members.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail and adherence to sterile techniques.
