OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Full time Occupational Therapist to join our educational team serving students in the Greenville and Jackman School districts. This vital role will provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to students with developmental, physical, and sensory needs across Pre-K through grade 12 programs. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with Maine Department of Education (MDOE) regulations while delivering high-quality therapeutic services to help students improve their ability to perform daily activities and enhance their access .
REPORTS TO:
Principal and Special Education Director
- Perform thorough occupational therapy evaluations in compliance with IDEA and state of Maine regulations.
- Develop and write Individual Educational Plan (IEP) goals and track and report on student progress.
- Deliver therapy interventions to enhance students' motor skills, coordination, and functional independence.
- Participate in all scheduled IEP meetings for students receiving occupational therapy services.
- Offer consultation and guidance to support staff and teachers on integrating therapy recommendations into students' daily routines.
- Conduct classroom observations as a component of both assessment and treatment planning.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of student treatment outcomes and progress.
- Stay informed on current research and best practices within the field of occupational therapy.
- Policy and Procedure Implementation:
Proven ability to read, comprehend, and execute educational policies and procedures. - Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for comprehensive report writing and effective consultation with families. - Collaboration:
Strong skills in teamwork and building professional relationships with educational staff. - Professional Conduct:
Unwavering commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards. - Time Management & Autonomy:
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet job demands. - Physical Demands:
Must possess the physical capacity required to perform all necessary job functions, including the demonstration of therapeutic techniques.

- Ability to read, understand, and successfully implement educational policies and procedures.

Education and Certification:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current State of Maine Occupational Therapist license.
- Valid Maine Department of Education Occupational Therapy certification.
- State of Maine CHRC (Criminal History Record Check) approval.
- In-depth clinical knowledge of occupational therapy practice, including child development and sensory integration.
- Experience utilizing adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse populations.
