For a limited time Maine Health is offering sign on bonuses for Medical Assistants: 0-1 years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time) 1+ years of experience eligible for $5,000 (full time)Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time MA position.
Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
Current Maine Health member employees are ineligible; former Maine Health Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
Your RoleMaine Health Surgical Care and Wound Care - Damariscotta | Maine Health is offering an exciting opportunity for a Medical Assistant to join our team! We are looking for candidates with strong communication skills, a positive attitude and proven record of reliability. Our medical assistants work one on one with a provider to enhance patient care and wellness through rooming and obtaining vital signs, reconciling the medical record, tracking preventative care quality measures, and returning patient calls.
This position requires a positive attitude to contribute to the team spirit within the practice
- Education:
High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements:
Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case‑by‑case basis). - License/
Certifications:
Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by Maine Health as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement). Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement.
A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire. - Experience:
Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a Maine Health Clinical Team Assistant. - Additional Skills/Requirements

The pay range for this position is $21.09to $27.12 per hour.
Compensation for part‑time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full‑time equivalent (FTE).
