The Coordinator of Student Well-Being oversees the development, implementation, and assessment of health education programming including peer to peer health promotion and campus wide Well-Being initiatives. The Coordinator is responsible for supporting the work of the Integrated Well-Being Team throughout the student experience.
The Coordinator of Student Well-Being also supports case management for students experiencing complex challenges. The primary responsibility of the Coordinator will be providing clinical case management for students with complex health concerns. A secondary focus of case management responsibilities for the role is providing support for students with psychiatric concerns and/or generalized case management needs. Case management is an important aspect of supporting student Well-Being.
Job Duties:- Support the work of the Integrated Well-Being Team by developing and implementing programming, completing administrative tasks, and supporting student leadership around Well-Being initiatives.
- Manage integration of best practices in social justice, identity support and development, universal design, and other inclusive practices into all aspects of community-based work.
- Train and manage campus partners to provide support to student interest groups (student clubs and organizations, teams, etc.) to develop unique training and programming opportunities related to health promotion, well-being, and violence prevention.
- Facilitate mission and activities of Integrated Well-Being Team to support development of proactive measures to support health promoting behaviors.
- Manage partnerships including Bates Health Services, Department of Athletics, and Counseling & Psychological Services to create new opportunities for active and passive programming around topics related to health promotion, well-being, and violence prevention.
- Conduct and implement annual education and data collection modules including Healthy Bates 101 & 102, Campus Pathways Study, and similar programs.
- Develop and implement training modules for professional staff in residence life to facilitate ongoing learning about well-being support, health promotion and violence prevention practices for students and communities.
- Oversee assessment practices for all health education programs and initiatives.
- Supervises shared inboxes and communication platforms to respond to questions and concerns.
- Lives in a designated on-campus apartment.
- Supports the Director of Health Services and Student Well-Being to provide case management to students with complex needs, including medical case management needs.
- Provide medical/psychiatric case management and general case management, to ensure the case population has adequate access to support services.
- Communicates with students and concerned parents, when appropriate, to resolve issues of concern related to work as a case manager, and/or discuss care plans.
- Responds in the moment to students in distress who need support connecting to additional resources.
- Protects student/patient confidentiality and confidentiality of medical records.
- As needed, advises and councils students who experience a substance use hospital transport to coordinate care, provide education, and provide support.
- Assures equity, inclusion, access, and anti-racism as central to their work in the delivery of healthcare services to students.
- Assists the Director of Health Services and Student Well-Being to support students in navigating health insurance and billing issues as well as other concerns accessing specialized care resources.
- Assist the Director of Health Services and Student Well-Being to complete review and follow up on entering student health forms, and AESOP health forms.
- Serve as Green Dot Trainer.
- Participate in team projects that enhance the quality or efficiency of Student Affairs.
- Participate in Senior Week, Commencement, Winter Carnival, and other campus wide events including events, protests, and crisis support, to provide support and student supervision as needed.
- Support the Director in other projects related to operations, student well-being, and case management.
- Participate in national and regional professional development opportunities to ensure the implementation and assessment of best practices related to student well‑being.
