We are looking for a full‑time, seasonal General Manager to lead the daily operations of Chebeague Island Inn and its team in close partnership with Prentice Hospitality Group leadership. This salary‑based role is for an experienced hospitality professional who thrives on creating exceptional guest experiences, cultivating strong teams, and driving financial success.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership & Team Culture
- Achieve business objectives in line with budget, strategic plans, and guest satisfaction goals.
- Collaborate with PHG leadership to maintain high standards of service and employee engagement.
- Recruit, inspire, and develop a high‑performing team that embodies hospitality and teamwork.
- Operations & Guest Experience
- Oversee daily hotel operations across all departments.
- Be present, visible, and hands‑on—stepping in to support the team when needed.
- Maintain impeccable property standards in cleanliness, safety, and maintenance.
- Foster a culture of hospitality, ensuring every guest enjoys a warm, memorable stay.
- Financial & Business Management
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and P&L reviews.
- Implement strategies to optimize revenue, control costs, and maximize profitability.
- Work with the Revenue Manager to position the hotel competitively in the market.
- Sales, Marketing & Community Engagement
- Partner with sales and marketing teams to drive revenue and elevate brand visibility.
- Oversee marketing initiatives, including social media, advertising, and PR.
- Build strong relationships with local businesses, event planners, and community organizations.
- Represent the hotel at industry and community events.
- Quality, Compliance & Ownership Relations
- Ensure compliance with all laws, policies, and safety standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to uphold the Inn’s luxury standards.
- Maintain open communication with ownership, providing transparent updates and insights.
- Minimum 3 years of hotel experience, including at least 2 years in management.
- Strong knowledge of food, wine, and beverage operations.
- Expertise in revenue management, POS, and reporting systems.
- Proven ability to train, inspire, and retain high‑performing teams.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and guest‑relations skills.
- Professional presence and grooming in line with luxury hospitality standards.
- A genuine passion for hospitality, people, and delivering unforgettable experiences.
