We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic Banquet Manager to join our team at Sebasco Harbor Resort. This is a full‑time position located in Phippsburg, ME. The role requires individuals who are detail‑oriented, proactive, and committed to upholding our high standards of guest satisfaction, cleanliness, and service.
Work PerformedThe Banquet Manager is responsible for serving food and drinks to guests at events at our onsite venue and ensuring the banquet/meeting rooms are set up properly.
- Supervising banquet staff during service
- Assuring product quality and consistency is maintained
- Managing banquet setup, including table arrangements, décor, and audiovisual equipment, according to event plans
- Communicating daily with the Banquet Manager
- Supervising and monitoring performance and uniform standards of all banquet staff employees, including setup & breakdown of all banquet events, placement of linens, tables & chairs in accordance with productivity standards and cost controls, and ensuring all equipment, supplies, or décor are organized and returned to their storage area
- Setting up/Preparing the banquet/meeting rooms based on event requirements
- Taking food and drink orders
- Making food and drink recommendations to guests and answering all menu‑ and service‑related questions
- Greeting guests and delivering a memorable experience for all
- Clearing, cleaning, and sanitizing tables
- Completing side‑work throughout the shift, before and after
- Taking out trash and recycling as needed
- Resetting banquet/meeting rooms
- Helping guests with any special requests/an allergy information
- Keeping workstations and equipment clean, organized, and in good working order
- Performing any other job‑related duties as assigned
- 1 or more full years Banquet Captain experience or related leadership position
- Skill and coordination when using hands to write, pour, and carry several drinks, plates, and bowls at the same time
- Ability to work in a high volume, fast‑paced work environment while on your feet for 4‑8 hours
- Excellent organizational skills and showing initiative with ability to work well in a team environment
- Having good communication skills
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to lift/push up to 50 lbs
- Ability to maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Have proficiency in the English language
- Must be able to work onsite at the location
- Hours required:
Full Time 40 hours per week and must be flexible
- Second language is a plus, preferably Spanish or French
$35 Hourly + Gratuity
