• A high school or Technical School Diploma.
• A minimum of one year of experience in building or machinery maintenance or the equivalent.
• Working knowledge of requirements and techniques in sports field maintenance and grounds maintenance, with additional knowledge or experience with light carpentry and/or custodial work.
• Knowing or having experience in winter removal operations in a commercial setting.
• Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, parents, community and school personnel.

Year Round

Under the direct supervision of the Grounds Supervisor, provide safe, efficient, and well-maintained physical grounds and athletic fields within the district, carry out winter snow removal operations, and assist in building maintenance or custodial departments as needed in winter months.

• Regularly inspect all grounds and athletic fields for safety, security, upkeep, and maintenance.
• Carry out all cultural practices (mowing, weed whacking, seeding, aeration, etc.) on all grass surfaces and maintain the artificial turf field.
• Complete winter snow removal operations, including plowing, snow blowing, scraping, and treatment of sidewalks and any other areas determined by the district.
• Maintain any district-provided vehicles and keep them in good working order and clean/organized condition.
• Communicate frequently with the Grounds Supervisor regarding status of work orders and regular work responsibilities on grounds and athletic fields.
• Communicate with the Grounds Supervisor to determine supplies, parts, and services needed for grounds maintenance assignments and projects.
• May be required to work nights or weekends for some athletic field preparation.
• Perform any other duties as requested.
