What You Will Do- Bench Mechanic on the 2nd Shift with a 4 day work week: 4x10 (M-TH) 3:30PM - 1:30AM.
- Follow verbal, written or computer-generated instructions to perform pre-coating operations, including surface preparation and masking duties.
- Perform post-coating tasks such as removing parts from fixtures, removing masking, troubleshooting, and diagnosing malfunctioning equipment. Perform minor repairs on coating equipment where applicable (e.g., deburring, blending, polishing, countersinking, grinding, drilling, or grit blasting on aerospace engine components).
- Perform Total Preventive Maintenance on applicable machines/equipment and check parts to meet visual and dimensional requirements using measuring tools (micrometers, verniers, height gauges, fixed gages).
- Remove burrs, nicks and scratches from parts, assist engineers in developing new or changed operations, and recommend changes to operating parameters and processes.
- Be flexible around shifts, including overtime, for training and to maintain workflow; handle multiple priorities and may be assigned tasks within scope of the job description to support department objectives and skill development.
- Skills, systems, and processes critical to aerospace manufacturing in a state-of-the-art facility.
- Training and advancement opportunities and on-the-job training using advanced technology.
- 0-1 years of related experience, or a completed degree/certificate from a post-secondary or vocational school in a related field with 0-1+ years related experience.
- High School or GED
- Experience with metal finishing methods, spray coating/paint application, machining, grinding, and/or welding.
- Experience with computerized machine operation.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments such as feeler gauges, verniers, calipers and micrometers.
- Knowledge of arithmetic involving decimals and fractions; ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; basic computer skills.
- Flexibility around shifts and overtime; ability to manage multiple priorities.
