Ashland, ME - FT/Nights – Temp-to-Hire Opportunity
Immediate openings for Mill Laborers with a well-established employer in Ashland. Benefits available after temp-to-hire period. Full-time/Nights; 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM. Four days per week, Monday through Friday with rotating day off. Some overtime available as needed. $22.37/hr. + $2.00/hr. night shift differential. Attendance bonuses available.
Job DescriptionThe Mill Laborer will play an essential role in the day-to-day operations, supporting the production of high-quality lumber products. This position involves operating and maintaining basic machinery, monitoring product quality, and ensuring a safe, efficient workflow throughout the production process. Ideal candidate will be a reliable team player with strong attention to detail, a commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced industrial setting.
Responsibilities- Operate production machinery, such as saws, conveyors, and planers.
- Load/unload raw materials and finished products from equipment or work areas.
- Inspect finished lumber to ensure that products conform to quality standards.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery.
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures as directed by site supervisor.
- Notify management of any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns in a timely manner.
- Perform other relevant duties as requested by site supervisors.
- High school diploma or equivalent education required.
- At least 1-2 years' experience using production machinery.
- Ability to operate machinery, stand for extended periods, and move/lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus.
- Background check required.
