Mars Hill, ME – Temp-to-Hire Opportunity
ScheduleFull-Time/Nights; 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, rotating days Sunday through Saturday.
Pay Rate$24.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Job DescriptionNow hiring a Boiler Operator for a well-established production facility in Mars Hill. A valid Maine boiler operator’s license is required. Candidates must hold a 4th Class Stationary Steam Engineer (SSE) license or a High-Pressure Boiler Operator license.
The Boiler Operator is responsible for the safe operation, cleaning, and maintenance of industrial-grade boiler systems in a large-scale production environment. This role requires strong communication skills, close attention to detail, and strict adherence to workplace safety standards. Applicants should have a solid working knowledge of boiler system operations and best safety practices. Two or more years of experience in a food production or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Monitor and operate boiler controls, including systems related to compressed air and fire protection.
- Inspect incoming water quality and ensure proper tank levels.
- Perform routine operational checks, cleaning, and maintenance of boiler equipment.
- Participate in required Haz Mat, Confined Space, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training.
- Follow all safety procedures and participate in the company’s Emergency Response Team program.
- Complete security checks of facility doors during each shift.
- Identify and report potential hazards, safety concerns, and equipment malfunctions to management.
- Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records.
- Perform other relevant duties as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Valid Maine Boiler Operator’s License (4th Class SSE preferred; High-Pressure license considered)
- Two to three years of experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
- Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records.
- Ability to work safely from ladders and at elevated heights.
- Dependable attendance and strong safety awareness.
