This role is a weekend night shift (Friday-Sunday, 6:00PM-6:00AM). Designed for individuals with little or no machining or grinding background to become a Certified Operator at Pratt & Whitney. Participants will attend a 3‑week training program followed by 4‑8 weeks of on‑the‑job training.

• Learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes, or VTCs.
• Perform routine production operations on weldments and assemblies.
• Work from operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS, and oral instruction for grinding, turning, facing, boring, and chamfering.
• Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments; obtain operator certification to accept/reject parts.
• Maintain machines through preventive maintenance (TPM).
• Collaborate with engineers, QA, programmers, and production personnel to resolve machining problems and assist process development.
• Read, write, speak, and understand English.

• High School diploma or GED.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Preferred: 1+ year manufacturing, automotive, or related trade experience.
• Ability to make computations involving decimals and fractions.
