Machining Cell Operator, 2nd Shift; Onsite

Overview

Pratt & Whitney is a world leader in the design, manufacture and service of aircraft engines and auxiliary power systems. This 2nd shift (Monday-Thursday, 4×10 hours, 3:30 pm‑1:30 am) position focuses on setting up and operating NC milling, grinding, and turning machines to produce weldments and assemblies.

As a Certified Operator you will:

• Set up and operate NC milling, grinding, vertical turret lathe, and VTC machines for routine production operations.
• Read operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS, and oral instructions to configure equipment for grinding, turning, facing, boring, and/or chamfering.
• Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain and maintain Operator Certification to accept/reject parts.
• Perform required total preventive maintenance (TPM) to maintain machines.
• Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers, and other production personnel to resolve machining problems and support part process development.

• High School or GED required.
• 1+ years of manufacturing, automotive, or related trade experience preferred.
• Ability to make computations involving decimals and fractions.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• U.S. citizenship required for this position.
