Bench Mechanic – 2nd Shift (Monday–Thursday, 3:30 pm–1:30 am)

What You Will Do- Work under direction of a supervisor or work‑leader following verbal, written, or computer‑generated instructions to perform pre‑coating operations: surface preparation and masking duties.
- Perform post‑coating tasks such as removing parts from fixtures, removing masking, troubleshooting, and diagnosing malfunctioning equipment.
- Perform minor repairs on coating equipment, including deburring, blending, polishing, countersinking, grinding, drilling, or grit blasting using hand and power tools on aerospace engine components.
- Execute Total Preventive Maintenance on applicable machines/equipment as required.
- Check parts to meet visual and dimensional requirements using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, height gauges, and other fixed gauges, and assure completed parts meet quality requirements.
- Remove burrs, nicks, and scratches on parts following oral and written instructions.
- Assist engineers and others in developing new or changed operations.
- Make recommendations for changing and improving operating parameters and processes.
- Refer any difficulties to a leader or supervisor.
- Remain flexible around shifts, including overtime, for training and maintaining workflow, and manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

Qualifications You Must Have- 0–1 year of related experience, or a completed degree/certificate from a post‑secondary or vocational school in a related field with 0–1+ years of related experience.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Experience with metal finishing methods, spray coating/paint application, machining, grinding, and/or welding.
- Experience with computerized machine operation.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments such as feeler gauges, verniers, calipers, and micrometers.
- Knowledge of arithmetic involving decimals and fractions.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions concerning work methods and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic computer skills.
- Flexibility around shifts, for training and to maintain workflow, including overtime.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
