Job Overview
A Workshop Technician is responsible for assembling, disassembling, and testing vacuum pumps according to a weekly plan. Assist and cooperate with team members on Corrective Action Reports as required. Report to the Team Leader.
Responsibilities- Reviews HS2 documentation on a daily basis.
- Uses the correct PPE and obeys required BAM processes and procedures.
- Meets daily production targets for quality, volume, and efficiency; collaborates with other zone members and the Zone Leader to establish priorities and ensures customer due dates are met.
- Inspects parts, assemblies, and systems; follows inspection criteria defined in Work Instructions, drawings, schematics, or other technical data.
- Daily checks calibrated tooling prior to its use.
- Performs leak tests and assists in troubleshooting leak test failures.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures; follows assigned tasks.
- Reports problems to management promptly and seeks assistance for complex issues.
- Maintains the work area in accordance with good housekeeping practices and 6S standards.
- Maintains established quality and time standards; provides input and feedback for continuous improvement.
- Completes required paperwork accurately and according to work instructions.
- Raises issues or observations at SIM2 meetings.
- Follows the Kanban system.
- Observes VTPS rules and standards.
- High school education or GED, preferably in a mechanical/technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing or a similar environment.
- Ability to work with hand and power tools.
- Good PC literacy; experience with SAP is advantageous.
- Ability to read drawings, schematics, and published specifications.
