Forklift Operator - Temporary Role
Salary: $17.00 to $20.00 plus shift differential.
Shift: 2 pm to 10 pm – Monday to Friday. Occasional overtime and weekends may be required.
Job Type: Temporary
Pre‑employment background check and drug screen required.
Responsibilities- Operate forklift in warehouse and production areas of the plant.
- Prior to shift start, ensure propane tanks are filled, forklift equipment properly cleaned and all fluids checked.
- Grease fittings as needed.
- Stack raw materials neatly and orderly.
- Sweep warehouse daily and empty trash bins when full.
- Ensure all trucks loaded have proper paperwork (packing slips, weight tickets). Trucks are counted and recounted by another associate; both sign off verifying product loaded.
- Attach packing slips to all loads and ensure packing slip enclosed.
- Attach load seals on all trucks before they leave dock area. Stack plywood during teardown of pods.
- Band and stack plywood rack when full.
- Process re‑stacks and bags returned to system daily and record.
- Wear seat belt at all times; operate lift at safe speed.
- Stack junk pallets and place properly until disposal.
Clean warehouse at end of shift. - Assist other production areas as needed.
- Move and wrap completed products.
- Assist Shift Leads to start and stop pellet mills.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
- Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.
- Good eye, hand, and foot coordination.
- Must be able to pass company forklift training.
- Ability to concentrate for extended periods and multi‑task.
- Will be lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for at least 7 hours per day.
- Required to read and interpret scales.
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to adjust weight and timing of bailer and other simple maintenance problems.
