What You Will Do

Bench Mechanic – 2nd shift (Monday‑Thursday, 3:00 PM‑1:30 AM). Perform pre‑coating operations including surface preparation and masking, post‑coating tasks such as removing parts from fixtures, removing masking, troubleshooting, diagnosing malfunctioning equipment, and performing minor repairs on coating equipment. Conduct deburring, blending, polishing, countersinking, grinding, drilling, and grit blasting on aerospace engine components. Execute Total Preventive Maintenance on applicable machines, check parts to meet visual and dimensional requirements using measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, height gauges), remove burrs, nicks, and scratches, assist engineers in developing new or changed operations, recommend process improvements, and report difficulties to the leader or supervisor.

Flexible scheduling, including overtime, is required.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • 0–1 years of related experience, or a related degree or certificate with 0–1+ years of experience.
  • High School diploma or GED.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with metal finishing methods, spray coating/paint application, machining, grinding, or welding.
  • Experience with computerized machine operation.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments such as feeler gauges, verniers, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic involving decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions concerning work methods and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Flexibility around shifts, including overtime.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
