What You Will DoThis is a Weekend Shift Opportunity. Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6:00am – 6:30pm, work 36 hours and get paid for 40 hours.
Position is designed to give individuals with little or no machining or grinding background the skills needed to become a Certified Operator at Pratt & Whitney.
Attendees will participate in a 3‑week training program followed by 4‑8 weeks of on‑the‑job training.
Tasks include operating NC milling, grinding machines, vertical turret lathes or VTCs to perform routine production operations on weldments and assemblies, working from operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS, and oral instruction, and performing grinding, turning, facing, boring, and chamfering operations on limited surfaces.
Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments and obtain operator certification to accept/reject parts.
Maintain machines via required total preventive maintenance (TPM) and collaborate with engineers, QA, programmers, and other production personnel to resolve machining problems and assist in part process development.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Qualifications You Must Have- High School diploma or GED
- 1+ years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience
- Ability to make computations involving decimals and fractions
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously

The facility is a FAA regulated facility. The position is considered safety sensitive per FAA guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as a pre‑employment contingency and ongoing random testing per FAA regulation 14 CFR part 120 and 49 CFR part 40.
