What You Will Do
  • Second shift (Monday – Thursday, 3:30 pm – 1:30 am).
  • Designed for individuals with little or no machining or grinding background to become a Certified Operator at Pratt & Whitney.
  • Attend a 3‑week training program and 4–8 weeks of on‑the‑job training.
  • Learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes or VTCs for routine production of weldments and assemblies.
  • Operate machines using operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS and oral instruction for grinding, turning, facing, boring, and chamfering operations.
  • Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Obtain operator certification to accept or reject parts.
  • Maintain machines through required Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers, and other production personnel to resolve machining problems and assist in part process development.
  • Minimum English language requirement: read, write, speak, and understand.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • High School diploma or GED.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, automotive or a related trade.
  • Ability to perform computations involving decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

Safety and Drug Testing

Role Type

Onsite:
Employees who work in Onsite roles will primarily work on‑site, including production and maintenance workers essential to engine development. Commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
