Overview
Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, is a world‑leading aerospace engine manufacturer. This role is an entry‑level operator training position for the Weekend Shift2 schedule, designed for individuals with little machining or assembly experience.
Responsibilities- Work Friday through Sunday on 12‑hour shifts (6pm–6:30am).
- Participate in 4‑8 weeks of on‑the‑job training to become a Certified Operator.
- Perform routine assembly operations on large engine sections and similar assemblies.
- Use operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS and oral instruction to complete tasks.
- Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Obtain operator certification to accept or reject parts.
- Perform total preventive maintenance (TPM) on machines.
- Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and production staff to resolve assembly problems and assist in part process development.
- Follow written work instructions available in English.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Preferred: 1+ year of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience.
- Ability to perform computations involving decimals and fractions.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
