Production Supervisor (Foreman Trainee)

Our client is looking for someone who wants more than just a job, they're looking for someone who wants a long-term career with an established manufacturing company. This position is designed for an individual who is eager to learn every aspect of the production operation and develop into a Shop Foreman.
Whether your background is in sheet metal fabrication, metal manufacturing, or another production environment, we're looking for someone with a strong work ethic, leadership potential, and the drive to keep operations moving efficiently.
What You'll DoYou’ll work side-by-side with the Shop Foreman, learning the operation while helping keep production running safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in leading daily shop operations and supporting production employees.
- Help coordinate production schedules to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Monitor workflow, materials, and inventory to minimize downtime.
- Promote a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
- Maintain quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Communicate production priorities and resolve issues as they arise.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline processes.
- Assist with training and developing production team members.
- Step into a leadership role when the Shop Foreman is unavailable.
- Learn all aspects of the operation in preparation for future advancement into the Foreman position.
- Manufacturing or production experience with leadership potential.
- Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication or metal manufacturing is a plus, but not required.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Someone who enjoys being on the production floor—not behind a desk all day.
- Ability to prioritize work, solve problems, and make sound decisions.
- A dependable, self-motivated individual who wants to grow with the company.
- Experience with production scheduling, inventory, ERP systems, or continuous improvement initiatives is beneficial.
- Clear path to becoming a Shop Foreman.
