Overview

Anchour is seeking a curious, detail-oriented Brand Strategist to support brand and marketing strategy work across a range of client engagements. The Strategist plays a key supporting role on engagements, partnering with senior strategists and cross-functional teams to conduct research, synthesize insights, and help bring strategic recommendations to life. This isn't a role that leads engagements independently; you'll often build your strategic muscle alongside more senior team members, with plenty of room to grow.

This role is ideal for someone who loves asking good questions, digging into data, and finding the story inside the numbers. You'll report to the Director, Strategy and partner closely with brand and marketing creative, growth, and client service teams across the agency.

About Anchour

Anchour is a creative agency of 37 and growing, focused on building unforgettable brands and digital experiences that help businesses punch above their weight.

Headquartered in Maine, we support SMBs and startups in various industries, including consumer goods, financial services, retail, and professional services. As a full-service agency, we offer a range of services, including strategy, branding, website design, development, copywriting, and full-service digital marketing solutions.

At Anchour, we are committed to fostering an inclusive work environment where all employees, regardless of their background, can thrive and contribute their best work.

What You'll Do

As a Strategist, you'll support strategic thinking and execution across client engagements, conducting research, synthesizing insights, and helping shape recommendations that inform creative and marketing work.

You'll work closely with senior strategists and cross-functional teams, contributing research and analysis that helps shape how we approach brand and marketing challenges for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Qualitative & Quantitative Research — Gather and analyze research using a mix of methods, including surveys, interviews, competitive audits, and market data, to help build a well-rounded picture of a brand's landscape.
  • Synthesize Insights — Turn raw research and data into clear takeaways, helping distill what matters and flagging patterns and opportunities for the broader strategy team.
  • Support Strategic Deliverables — Assist in building brand positioning documents, messaging frameworks, audience profiles, and journey maps, working closely with senior strategists to bring their frameworks to life.
  • Contribute to Client Engagements — Support day-to-day work on client engagements, including note-taking, follow-up research, and prepping materials for meetings and presentations.
  • Collaborate Across Disciplines — Partner with designers, writers, and marketers to help strategic thinking translate cleanly into the work, flagging gaps or questions along the way.
  • Present Findings — Help prepare, and at times present, research findings and supporting materials to internal teams and clients, building comfort and confidence in front of a room.
  • Stay Current on Trends & Data — Keep a pulse on marketing, brand, and category trends, bringing relevant findings back to the team to sharpen our strategic point of view.
  • Support New Business Research — Assist with research and prep for new business pitches, including competitive audits and category insights.
What We're Looking For
  • 3 years of experience in brand strategy, market research, or a related field. Agency experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Comfort with both qualitative and quantitative research, from user interviews and surveys to data analysis and competitive audits.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to spot patterns and turn data into clear, useful insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to internal teams and clients.
  • A naturally curious mindset, with genuine interest in brands, culture, and marketing trends.
  • Comfort collaborating across disciplines, working closely with senior strategists, designers, writers, and marketers.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when…
