East Coast Cannabis is seeking an experienced, hands-on Fractional Marketing Manager to help organize, execute, and strengthen our marketing efforts across retail, wholesale, customer loyalty, events, digital marketing, and brand initiatives.
This role is ideal for someone who can take company goals and ideas and turn them into an organized, actionable marketing plan.
We operate with a lean internal structure rather than a traditional marketing department. The Fractional Marketing Manager will work closely with company leadership, a full-time Events & Marketing Specialist who also supports social media, internal departments, and outside creative and marketing vendors.
This position is not expected to personally produce all graphic design or creative materials. East Coast Cannabis will continue to utilize outside designers, printers, photographers, and other creative partners as needed. Instead, this role will help determine what needs to be created, develop campaign direction and creative briefs, coordinate resources, and ensure marketing initiatives are successfully executed.
Marketing Planning & Campaign Strategy- Develop practical quarterly and annual marketing priorities aligned with company goals.
- Build and maintain promotional and marketing calendars across retail, wholesale, events, product launches, and seasonal initiatives.
- Develop campaign concepts, promotional strategies, customer offers, and communication plans.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer acquisition, retention, loyalty, and visit frequency.
- Translate marketing ideas into clear priorities, timelines, deliverables, and measurable goals.
- Coordinate email, SMS, loyalty, social media, digital, in-store, and event-based campaigns.
- Work with the Events & Marketing Specialist to align events, social content, and local-store marketing with broader company priorities.
- Develop creative briefs and provide direction for outside designers and marketing partners.
- Coordinate agencies, designers, photographers, printers, and other vendors as needed.
- Keep marketing initiatives organized and ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Use customer, transaction, and loyalty data to identify opportunities for growth and retention.
- Develop customer segments and targeted marketing strategies.
- Evaluate promotions, discounts, loyalty offers, email, and SMS performance.
- Help balance promotional activity with margin and profitability goals.
- Recommend opportunities to improve the customer journey and overall engagement
- Establish practical marketing KPIs and recurring reporting.
- Analyze customer behavior, campaign performance, sales trends, and promotional results.
Use data to identify what's working, what isn't, and where marketing resources should be focused. - Present actionable recommendations to company leadership.
- Collaborate with Retail, Wholesale, Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, and company leadership.
- Support product launches, retail promotions, wholesale initiatives, events, and other company priorities.
- Establish clear timelines, responsibilities, and approval processes for marketing projects.
- Help create a more organized and consistent marketing workflow across the company.
- 5+ years of progressive marketing experience.
- Previous experience as a Marketing Manager, Senior Marketing Manager, Marketing Strategist, Fractional Marketing Manager, or similar role.
- Experience developing and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns.
- Experience with CRM, loyalty, email/SMS, customer acquisition, retention, and promotional marketing.
- Strong project-management and organizational skills.
- Comfortable coordinating outside designers, agencies, and other creative partners.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate customer and campaign data into practical recommendations.
- Ability to work independently within a lean organization without a large internal marketing department.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience in cannabis, retail, CPG, hospitality, food and beverage, lifestyle brands, or another consumer-focused industry is preferred.
- Dutchie POS, E-commerce, and Dutchie Marketing
- Alpine IQ or other CRM, loyalty, email, and SMS platforms
- Hoodie Analytics or comparable market-intelligence tools
- Google Analytics and digital-reporting platforms
- Meta Business Suite
- Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
- Direct experience with every platform is not required. Candidates should be comfortable learning new systems and using data to guide marketing decisions.
- Fractional contract position
- Approximately 15-25 hours per week during the initial planning and implementation period
- Hours may adjust as marketing systems and processes become established
- Hybrid preferred; remote candidates with periodic onsite availability in Maine will be considere
