is seeking anEXPERIENCEDpart-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

This position also offers the unique opportunity to be combined with another Maine Health Behavioral Health role for providers seeking additional hours while maintaining work across multiple clinical settings.
Position OverviewUnder the direction of a physician and/or the Medical Director, the Advanced Practice Provider will collaboratively co-manage patient caseloads alongside each patient’s primary clinician, contributing to comprehensive, team-based care.
Schedule- 12 hours per week

Duties/Responsibilities- Complete psychiatric diagnostic and substance use evaluation.
- Prescribe medical treatment within scope of practice.
- Provide on-going medication assessment, education, and management, including medications of opioid use disorder (MOUD).
- Provide therapeutic treatment in face-to-face and tele-psychiatric evaluations.
- Develop and record a plan for effective and timely treatment for patients in a community-based setting.
- Respond to medical emergencies and determine need for transfer to accepting facility in collaboration with psychiatric care when needed.
- Complete medical records timely per policy.
- Successful completion of accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. Master’s degree required.
- Two years’ experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) strongly preferred.
- Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure and qualified to do psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
- Active DEA registration.
- Current BLS certification.
- Experience providing medical services to those experiencing homelessness.
- Experience treating psychiatric and substance use disorders, including MOUD.
- Knowledge and comfort with trauma-informed care.
- Must meet specific credentialing criteria needed if working in the hospital as defined by Medical Staff By-Laws.
- Advanced skill and knowledge in conducting psychiatric evaluations and treating psychiatric patients.
