LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse Convenient Care Northeast Region - Per Diem

Job Summary

Geisinger Convenient Care is a walk‑in clinic that provides quick, convenient healthcare when patients need it.

Convenient Care locations offer services for family health care needs, including physicals, immunizations and treatment for common illnesses. The clinic treats minor health issues that can be resolved in a single visit such as cold and flu symptoms, allergies, earaches, urinary infections, tick removal, sprains, strains, and minor cuts.

Position hours are Per Diem, as needed. Shift: Rotation.

• Obtain and document patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and basic medical data for the provider, and prepare patients for examinations.
• Assist the provider in the performance of minor surgical diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, complete associated paperwork, and expedite laboratory studies with maximum accuracy and efficiency.
• Execute and document ongoing patient communication, prioritize communication to the provider, and respond to patient questions and requests to ensure efficient use of provider time and timely response to patients’ needs.
• Administer medications and vaccines, including intradermal and skin testing, under the direction of a provider and within the scope of practice.
• Clean and set up examination and treatment rooms between cases, ensuring required levels of asepsis, availability of appropriate instruments and equipment, and patient preparation.
• Provide primary clinical support to the provider, patient and family to assist in diagnosis and treatment of the patient’s condition.
• Follow up on diagnostic testing to ensure completion, accuracy, and filing in the medical record to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Work is typically performed in a clinical environment and the position is accountable for satisfying all job‑specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.

• Graduate from Specialty Training Program – Nursing (Required).
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience (Preferred).
• Licensed Practical Nurse license (Required).
• Basic Life Support Certification (Required).
• Strong communication, computer literacy, customer service, multitasking, and teamwork skills.
