Maine Health OBGYN with Stephens Hospital in Norway, Maine, is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Professional with women’s health experience
- Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Associate (PA), or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our OB/GYN practice. H elp support our busy, outpatient OB/GYN practice under the supervision of covering OB/GYN physicians. This provider will manage a broad range of Women’s Health issues including prenatal and postnatal OB care. The position is focused on outpatient care of obstetrical patients to include clinical care coordination of obstetrical services.
However, there is the potential to adapt this position based on the candidate’s interest and experience to include some combination of gynecological care, deliveries, or support for surgical procedures.
The candidate is expected to have completed an accredited certified nurse midwifery, nurse practitioner or physician associate program and have two or more years of applicable women’s health experience. A successful candidate will have excellent clinical skills and knowledge of low‑risk pregnancy. They will also possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment within a busy OB/GYN practice.

- Education: BSN/MSN and successful completion of nurse midwifery program accredited by the ACNM or successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate program.
- License/
Certifications:
Current license and registration to practice as a Registered Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Certified Nurse Midwife as required in the State of Maine. Current BLS certification. - NRP, BLS, and surgical first assistant certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of labor & delivery and office experience required; CNM experience is preferred.
- Competency with IUD insertion and office ultrasound is required;
Nexplanon insertion is desired. - Comfort with moderate-to-high risk pregnancies.
- Collaborative approach to patient care including working with OB/GYNs and all levels of clinical team.
Maine Health policy requires all care team members to be vaccinated, including for influenza, subject to eligibility for medical or religious exemptions which can only be granted in compliance with applicable law.
