Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site Nurse Practitioner role based in Rockport, ME. The Nurse Practitioner will provide direct patient care in an in-office infusion suite, including conducting assessments, reviewing medical histories, and evaluating patients for infusion eligibility and safety. Daily responsibilities include initiating, monitoring, and managing infusion therapies, responding to infusion-related reactions, and coordinating care with referring and supervising clinicians. The role involves following evidence-based protocols, documenting care in the electronic medical record, and ensuring compliance with clinical, safety, and regulatory standards.

The Nurse Practitioner will also educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, coordinate scheduling with clinic staff, and contribute to a supportive, efficient, and patient-focused environment.

Qualifications
  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Maine and national certification (e.g., FNP, AGNP) appropriate to patient population.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in infusion therapy, oncology, rheumatology, immunology, or a related specialty is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in patient assessment, care planning, and management of acute and chronic conditions in an outpatient setting.
  • Experience with IV insertion, vascular access care, medication administration, and monitoring for infusion reactions.
  • Strong documentation and electronic health record (EHR) skills, with attention to accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, physicians, staff, patients, and caregivers.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to patient safety, infection control, and adherence to clinical protocols, practice policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required;
    Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program; prior outpatient or infusion center experience is a plus.
