Job SummaryUrgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.

- Bachelor’s Degree required for Physician Assistants
- Master’s Degree required for Nurse Practitioners
- One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or one year of Urgent Care setting experience required. Will consider 2 years of Family Medicine experience.
- National Certification
- Active state medical licensure
- Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferred
- Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting, etc.
- Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays required.
- Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting required.
- Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Examining and treating patients
- Taking patients’ medical histories
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays
- Making diagnoses and prescribing medications
- Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
- Recording progress notes for follow-up patients
- Educating and counseling patients
- Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients
- Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care
- Each provider will work an anticipated eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift which will be assigned by an authorized representative of Go Health Urgent Care
- All other duties as assigned
