Location: Calais

Emergency Room Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Room Nurse to join our healthcare team. The Emergency Room Nurse will be responsible for providing immediate and specialized care to patients in the emergency department. The ideal candidate should possess excellent critical thinking and multitasking abilities, as well as exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate with the interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

and Duties
  • Conduct initial patient assessments, including gathering relevant medical history and performing physical examinations.
  • Prioritize and provide prompt medical care to patients based on triage guidelines and protocols.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and IV fluids as prescribed by the physician.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, laboratory results, and response to interventions, promptly reporting any changes or deterioration to the physician.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the implementation of appropriate patient care plans.
  • Assist in emergency procedures such as intubation, cardiac resuscitation, wound suturing, and splinting.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records.
  • Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Remain calm under pressure, effectively managing stressful situations and providing emotional support to patients and their families.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department or critical care setting
  • Proficient in conducting comprehensive physical assessments and identifying potential medical emergencies
  • Strong knowledge of emergency care protocols, procedures, and interventions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse team
  • Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
