Weekly pay: $1,934 – $2,026 per week

Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week

Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 am–7:00 pm)

Setting: hospital-based medical-surgical unit

  • Travel assignment with on-site patient care responsibilities
Responsibilities
  • Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments for diverse adult and geriatric patients on the Med Surg unit.
  • Develop, implement, and revise patient care plans based on physician orders, patient needs, and progress; monitor outcomes and adjust as needed.
  • Administer medications accurately using the five rights, document administration, monitor patient response, and report adverse reactions.
  • Collaborate with the health care team (physicians, case managers, and other staff) to coordinate care, participate in rounds, and support discharge planning.
  • Document patient care activities in accordance with hospital policies and procedures; provide patient and family education to support understanding of plans and follow-up.
  • Maintain a safe, clean environment, ensure availability and safety of supplies and equipment, and follow infection control and safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Licensure:
    Current RN license in Maine or in a state with compact multi-state license recognition.
  • Certifications:

    Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS preferred.
  • Immunizations:
    Varicella (2 doses or titer) or compliant status;
    Hepatitis B (3 doses or titer) or declination (declination accepted only for HepB); MMR (2 doses or titer);
    Tdap; PPD (2-step or titer) within past 12 months;
    Flu vaccine during flu season.
  • Education:

    BSN preferred; active RN with current licensure and ability to practice in the listed setting.
  • Experience:

    Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to problem solve; effective verbal and written communication; basic knowledge of nursing care across age groups.
  • Additional:
    Ability to stand/walk for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and work in a setting with exposure to infectious diseases; on onboarding, provider will complete HR onboarding and necessary credentialing, W-9 and COI for workers’ compensation and liability.
