Responsibilities
  • The Registered Nurse (RN) provides rapid, high‑quality nursing care to patients with acute illness, injury, and life‑threatening conditions in a fast‑paced Emergency Department.
  • Assess, prioritize, and triage patients using established clinical protocols.
  • Provide emergency nursing care, treatments, and life‑saving interventions.
  • Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies as ordered.
  • Monitor patient condition, interpret clinical findings, and promptly communicate changes to the healthcare team.
  • Assist with emergency procedures, trauma care, diagnostic testing, and patient stabilization.
  • Operate and monitor emergency and life‑support equipment.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS, and the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Promote patient safety, quality care, and positive clinical outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below)
  • In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
  • EDAP certified facilities:
    Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
  • Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required.
