Overview

Dexter Health Care is hiring for a Registered Nurse. $20,000 sign on bonus for eligible employees (paid out over 2 years
).

New rate increases: $37.00 - $44.00 per hour with robust shift differentials, earning up to $6.00 extra per hour.

Dexter Health Care is a 53‑bed full‑service long‑term care and skilled nursing facility offering short‑stay rehabilitation, skilled nursing care, and long‑term care services.

RN

Job Summary

Registered nurses work closely with supervising physicians to assess and monitor residents’ needs, ensure treatment and care are conducted per facility protocols, administer medications, and perform related tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Cares for residents
  • Exhibits strong clinical skills
  • Demonstrates excellent bedside manner
  • Records a resident’s medical history, symptoms, and vitals
  • Updates resident charts and electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Administers medication and other doctor-recommended treatment plans
  • Complies with federal, state, and local nursing regulations, standards, and policies
  • Collaborates with nurses, doctors, and administrators
Requirements
  • AS or BS degree in nursing
  • Must be currently registered/licensed in Maine
  • Must have CPR certification upon hire or obtained during orientation; must maintain during employment
  • Knowledge and use of Electronic Medical Records and/or solid computer skills
  • Strong communication skills, both in writing and verbally
  • Effective leadership skills and/or ability to develop these skills
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
