Overview

Central Maine Healthcare (CMH), a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation, is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving approximately 400,000 residents across central, western, and midcoast Maine through a network of more than 40 primary and specialty care locations. The system includes Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) in Lewiston, a 250‑bed, not‑for‑profit regional referral hospital that is home to the region's only Cancer Care Center, an orthopedic ambulatory surgery center, and the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute.

CMMC also serves as the central Maine base for Life Flight of Maine, the state's only medical helicopter service.

The Director of Nursing (DON) organizes and administers areas of clinical and patient care services to attain facility's objectives established by hospital administration. Hospital‑wide programs, policies and procedures are developed to assess, evaluate and meet the needs of the patient. Develops and implements hospital plans for providing nursing care, treatment, and clinical services to those patients requiring care treatment and services.

The DON participates with the management, medical staff and clinical leaders in the facility's decision‑making structures and processes. The DON implements an effective, ongoing program to measure, assess and improve the quality of nursing care, treatment and services delivered to patients.

• Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)-(AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of 5 years Acute Care experience.
• Minimum of 2 years previous Administrative experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required for all new hires after 1/11/2021.
