American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week travel contract in Maine, requiring an active ME or Compact RN license and at least 1 year of ED experience.

• Emergency Department (ED) setting in a hospital environment
• Day shift: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
• 13-week contract assignment
• Patients across all age groups requiring emergency nursing care

• Active Maine or Compact RN license, currently in hand
• BSN preferred
• Minimum 1 year of ED nursing experience required
• Current, unexpired BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Required immunizations:
  Varicella (2 doses or titer), HepB (3 doses, titer, or signed declination), MMR (2 doses or titer), Tdap, and PPD 2-step or titer within the past 12 months
• Flu shot required during flu season
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, crouching, bending, reaching, and pushing patients in wheelchairs and stretchers
• Visual and hearing acuity sufficient to assess patients
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and verbal/written communication skills

• Performs age-appropriate initial and ongoing nursing assessments across all patient populations
• Develops and implements individualized plans of care based on patient needs and physician orders
• Administers and evaluates patient response to medications using med verify system
• Conducts patient and family education and ensures understanding of discharge plans, including follow-up calls post-discharge
• Participates in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and bedside rounding with hospitalists and case managers
• Actively contributes to hospital-wide Quality Improvement initiatives and department-specific projects
• Expected to participate in emergency/disaster preparedness planning and response within the scope of professional ability
• Onboarding process begins with reporting to Human Resources on day 1
• Potential exposure to infectious diseases, blood borne pathogens, toxic cleaning chemicals, and fumes
