Description:

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Nursing, the Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the hospital. They assume responsibility for the coordination of age-appropriate patient care activities in the absence of the CNO or DON, utilizing knowledge of standards, policies, and procedures outlined for the facility. They coordinate nursing care activities within the nursing services in the absence of the Unit Directors and provide overall management of the facility.

They maintain a high degree of confidentiality and support the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Demonstrates clinical proficiency in the age-appropriate care of patients using the nursing process. Demonstrates leadership skills with strengths in communication, organization, management of conflict, and problem-solving. Ability to function independently. Ability to act rapidly and efficiently in emergency situations. Holiday coverage may be required.
