Nursing Supervisor - Night Shift
Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer and Director of Nursing, the Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and overall management of the hospital during night shifts. This role involves coordinating age-appropriate patient care activities in the absence of the CNO or DON, ensuring adherence to standards, policies, and procedures outlined for the facility. The Nursing Supervisor also coordinates nursing care activities within nursing services when Unit Directors are unavailable, maintaining a high level of confidentiality and supporting the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
Responsibilities- Supervise patient care activities and nursing staff in the absence of Unit Directors.
- Coordinate nursing services while ensuring compliance with established policies and regulations.
- Manage overall operations and patient care activities effectively during night shifts.
- Demonstrate clinical proficiency in age-appropriate care using the nursing process.
- Act swiftly and efficiently in emergency situations and manage conflicts effectively.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; a BSN is preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine or Authorization to Practice pending licensure by endorsement.
- BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum of 4 years of acute care experience required.
- Experience in emergency department settings is required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, strong communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to function independently and act efficiently in high-pressure scenarios.
This is a 36-hour position with 12-hour night shifts.
