American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Special Care Unit (SCU/IMC) night shift position requiring a Maine or compact RN license and vasoactive drip and ventilator experience.
Details- Work in the Special Care Unit (SCU/IMC), a step-down unit distinct from a traditional ICU
- Unit does not typically manage vented patients and rarely runs drips
- Unit has 8 beds with patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 4:1
- Patient population includes SCU/IMC, med-surg, and occasional swing patients
- Uses ventilators, ceiling lifts, Plumb pumps, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and SCD boots
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Night shift, working 6p-6a or similar 12-hour rotation
- Every other weekend minimum required
- No on-call requirements for core hours
- Occasional floating to Med-Surg required
- 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed
- Active RN license (Maine or Compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
- Prior tele, ICU, or SCU experience preferred
- Experience with vasoactive drips and ventilators required
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Driver's License required for consideration
- Two professional references required
- Provide direct patient care to step-down/intermediate care patients requiring close monitoring
- Team environment values down-to-earth, proactive, and high-standard team players
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Air pods, laptops, and cell phone use prohibited on the unit
- RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract at manager's discretion
- Local candidates within 90 miles of any Maine Health facility are considered local and not eligible for renewals or extensions
- Candidates who have worked at any Maine Health facility within the past 12 months must disclose this during consideration
- First-time travelers may be considered
