Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Medical Surgical specializes in providing comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients within a hospital setting. The RN collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ conditions accurately and efficiently using professional nursing skills.
• Develop and update patient care plans in collaboration with physicians, patients, and families.
• Implement nursing interventions based on clinical assessments and established protocols.
• Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatments, adjusting care plans as necessary.
• Document patient care activities thoroughly and accurately in electronic health records.
• Promote teamwork by communicating effectively with medical staff and hospital personnel.

Qualifications:

• Hold current RN licensure in the State of Maine or pending licensure by endorsement.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
• Maintain current BCLS certification; ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire.
• Demonstrate strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
• Exhibit ability to function independently in a fast-paced environment.
