Job Summary
Geisinger Convenient Care urgent care is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team in Pittston, Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and treat common medical problems such as sore throats, earaches, sinus infections, flu, urinary tract infections, and other conditions.
- Perform routine health exams, immunizations, screenings and wellness services.
- Work autonomously with limited administrative burden and collaborate with physicians as required.
- Monday–Friday 8:45am–8:15pm;
Saturday & Sunday 7:45am–6:15pm. - 14 rotating shifts per month.
- Work every other weekend; no overnight shifts or mandated additional shifts.
- Approximately six nights of call per year; no direct patient call for critical lab, CT, etc.
- Six observed holidays:
Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day.
- $10,000 recruitment incentive for new hires.

- Advanced practitioner experience treating patients from age one and older.
- Minimum six months advanced practitioner experience in primary care, emergency medicine, urgent care, or critical care.
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant required;
Nurse Practitioner must hold a master’s degree from an approved program or be eligible for national certification.
- Physician Assistants:
Completion of ARC‑PA (or predecessor) approved program, current NCCPA certification or eligibility, and Pennsylvania state licensure. - Nurse Practitioners:
Certificate of completion from an approved NP program or eligibility for national certification allowing practice in PA, and licensure as a nurse practitioner in Pennsylvania. - Basic Life Support certification.
- License as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Pennsylvania.
- Care management knowledge.
- Clinical policies and standards.

- Patient rights.
