Position: Documentation Specialist / Technical Writer
Location: Mechanic Falls

** Documentation Specialist (Project)*
* Our client in Mechanic Falls, ME is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented  
** Documentation Specialist
** to support the Safety, Quality, and Continuous Improvement team in preparation for an upcoming audit scheduled for later this year.

This is a contracted role with an immediate need extending through the end of the year, with the possibility of extension beyond that timeframe. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical writing and document control experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

** Compensation:
** Hourly pay rate will be based on your experience, qualifications, and skill level. This will be discussed during your interview.

** Position Summary*
* The primary focus of this position is to provide  
** technical writing
** and  
** documentation support** , including the development, revision, organization, and control of various operational and program-level documents. This role may also assist with training and facilitation of documented materials throughout the organization.

The Documentation Specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, quality, safety, supply chain, finance, and customer service to create clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation.

** Key Responsibilities*
* + Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) across multiple departments to gather technical information and translate it into clear, concise documentation.

+ Develop, write, revise, and maintain a wide range of technical documents, including:

+ Work instructions

+ Procedures

+ Training materials

+ Reference documents

+ Program-level documentation

+ Maintain document control processes and ensure all revisions are properly reviewed, approved, released, and archived.

+ Distribute updated documents to appropriate departments and remove obsolete documentation from circulation.

+ Support audit preparation activities through accurate and compliant documentation practices.

+ Assist with training and facilitation of documented processes and materials as needed.

** Required Qualifications*
* + Experience in technical writing and documentation management, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

+ Ability to understand complex technical information and simplify it into user-friendly documentation.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

+ Strong written communication, editing, formatting, and organizational skills.

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

** Desired Experience (Preferred but Not Required)*
* + Training or facilitation experience.

+

Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and controlled documentation processes.

+ Automotive or industrial manufacturing experience.

** Skills & Competencies*
* + Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

+ Strong project management and prioritization skills.

+ Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
