Summary
Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position is responsible for testing wires and cables, maintaining calibration of testing equipment, compiling and evaluating statistical data to determine and maintain product quality, assisting Quality Engineers and the Quality Manager, and implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System in support of ISO and Nuclear programs.
Essential Responsibilities- Lead associates to effectively perform required testing and reporting of quality data.
- Deliver accurate and timely test results.
- Investigate, evaluate, and report returned product from customers.
- Lead / coordinate corrective actions.
- Interact with customer visits (offsite or onsite) as needed.
- Interact with suppliers as needed for audits, certifications and purchased material concerns.
- Consult with Engineering to interpret Engineering and Industry Specifications to ensure products get tested accordingly.
- Assist with compliant analysis and corrective actions.
- Support Continuous Improvement projects and 6S events.
- Support Layered Process Audits.
- Interact with external customers, inspectors and auditors as needed.
- Assist in updating Claim Sheets and Dashboards.
- Serve as internal auditor for Willimantic and other Facilities in North America as needed.
- Interact with and assist the Quality lab as needed.
- Perform related duties as directed by Quality Manager.
- Experience with Wire and Cable, Fiber Optic, Nuclear, Flame testing, Electrical and Mechanical testing.
- Experience with data analysis and database computer programs.
- Ability to use various laboratory testing tools.
- Sound technical skills, analytical ability, and good judgment.
- Effective oral and written communication with associates, technicians, engineers, and internal and external customers.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to lead projects.
- High energy; demonstrates urgency and works well in a fast‑pace environment.
- Ability to work well with a team and be a self‑starter.
- Capable of multi‑tasking.
- Minimum of 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in Quality systems auditing.
- Experience in the Wire and Cable Industry.
