Research Scientist, Mechanical Engineer
Postdoctoral Fellow in Nuclear Engineering
We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to work on development of experimental methods for two-phase flows. We aim to develop a probe for measurement of void fraction and velocity at prototypic reactor conditions. The work includes development of methods for manufacturing miniature sensors and using these sensors in the HWAT facility. The HWAT facility was developed to study thermohydraulic phenomena relevant to small modular reactors (SMRs).
The work is a part of a collaborative project in Europe and national project supported by Swedish nuclear regulator (SSM).
Requirements
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
- Doctoral degree in experimental nuclear engineering, micro-mechanics, sol-gel chemistry, experimental thermohydraulics.
Preferred qualifications
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the Final date to receive applications
- Knowledge and experience of experimental investigation of two-phase flows, sol-gel coating, micro-mechanical manufacturing, high frequency signal processing.
- Good communication and collaborative skills, capability to work in a team and independently.
- Motivation and dedication to research work is a very strong merit.
- Teaching experience is an advantage.
- Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.
