Research Assistant In Reproductive Perinatal Pharmacoepidemiology And Autoimmune Diseases

At the Clinical Epidemiology Division at the Department of Medicine Solna, we conduct high quality epidemiologic studies with the overarching goal of advancing patient care and deepening our understanding of health and disease. You will be responsible for doing data management, planning studies, writing study protocols, statistical programming and applying statistical analysis methods to epidemiological data. You will conduct the statistical analysis for research projects in collaboration with the principal investigator. It is important that you are able to communicate your results in both written text and oral presentations. The project is on adverse pregnancy outcomes associated with medication use during pregnancy.

We are seeking a research assistant who is self-motivated, analytical, well-organized and passionate about improving the evidence base for the safety of medications during pregnancy, and specifically for patients with immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. The ideal candidate will have knowledge about epidemiological methods, as well as experience in applying statistical methods to Swedish nationwide register data, in particular the Medical Birth Register and the Prescribed Drug Register.
Skills in programming (SAS or R) are required. You should be a detail-oriented person who has a high standard for your work. The applicant should enjoy working with and analyzing large and complex databases. Knowledge about clinical pharmacology, epidemiology and biostatistics is required. Experience using Swedish register data to conduct pharmacoepidemiologic studies is a merit. Knowledge about adverse pregnancy outcomes and their relation to medication use during pregnancy is also a merit.
Requirements: coursework in epidemiology and biostatistics, including causal inference methods, experience using SAS or R to perform data management and analysis, excellent written and oral communication skills in English, background in pharmacy, and experience using Swedish register data to perform epidemiological research

The position is located within the Department of Medicine, Solna. The department consists of ten divisions and each division consists of several research groups. The position is located at the Division of Clinical Epidemiology, Elizabeth Arkema's research team.
