Postdoc in Cell and Molecular Biology Research
The AICell Lab in the department of Applied Physics at KTH and Science for Life Laboratory pursues interdisciplinary research in cell and molecular biology. The group is led by Wei Ouyang and combines wet-lab work with automated experimental platforms and AI-driven analysis tools. Data-driven Life Science Fellows program
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to pursue curiosity-driven cell and molecular biology research in a team that uses AI and automation as everyday tools. The position is biology-focused — you design and run experiments, interpret the results biologically, and collaborate with colleagues who handle the implementation and analysis work.
We value a strong biological foundation, communication skills, and a willingness to collaborate in an interdisciplinary team. The project is shaped collaboratively at the start of the appointment, around your scientific interests and the lab's broader directions.
QualificationsRequirements
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
- The ability to express yourself in English, as we work in an international environment.
Preferred qualifications
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the Final date to receive applications
- Have a strong biological foundation and demonstrated research experience in cell, molecular, or systems biology.
- Have solid practical experience with experimental biological work (cell culture, microscopy, transfection, labeling, or other molecular biology methods).
- Are able to design, optimize, and troubleshoot experimental protocols.
- Are comfortable in an interdisciplinary team and collaborate well with colleagues working on automation, computation, and AI-assisted analysis.
- Have good communication skills — can explain biology to non-biologists and translate between biology and computation.
- Are curious about AI-driven methods in biological research and open to working in a team that uses these tools daily.
- Basic programming or data analysis skills are meriting but not required — we value biological curiosity and willingness to learn.
- Have good teaching abilities.
- Have awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.
