What You'll DoAs a Cook, you will:
- Prepare and serve high-quality meals for our residents according to established menus and recipes.
- Prepare meals that meet a variety of nutritional and therapeutic dietary needs.
- Follow safe food handling, sanitation, and infection prevention practices.
- Ensure meals are prepared and served on time while maintaining high standards for quality and presentation.
- Help create a positive dining experience for our residents.
- Work collaboratively with the dietary team to keep kitchen operations running smoothly.
- Provide direction and supervision to Food Service Workers in the absence of the Dietary Manager.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in food service, including meal preparation and cooking.
- Healthcare or institutional cooking experience preferred.
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to understand and respond to residents' needs and inquiries in English.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English.
